API Proper pH 6.5 is a powder treatment that adjusts and buffers freshwater aquarium water at pH 6.5. This 8.5 oz pack is intended for aquariums without live plants where that pH suits the fish being kept.

Key features

  • Adjusts and holds freshwater aquarium pH at 6.5.
  • Also treats chlorine and detoxifies heavy metals.
  • Powder format for aquarium setup and water-change use.

How to use

Check that pH 6.5 suits your fish, test the water, and follow the measuring and dosing instructions on the actual container. Retest before deciding whether further treatment is needed.

Important precautions

Do not use in aquariums containing live plants. Avoid abrupt pH changes; the correct pH depends on the species and existing water conditions.

1tsp dropped a 9.5pH to a 7 0 👍

I got this in hopes that lowering the pH in my goldfish tank would bring back their color. I have 2 goodies that suddenly lost their color two-ish years ago and are now stark white. I tried food, water changes, temperature, sand, ect. Only thing new was we moved from city water to well water with an extremely high hardness and pH levels the year before. Unfortunately, tgis didn't fix it. It did what it was advertised to do though. In a 40gal tank with a 9.5 pH, 1tsp dropped it to a 7.0

Excellent

I needed to lower the pH in one of my aquariums to create the ideal environment for my new German Blue Rams, so I decided to give this product a try. It worked wonders! With just a small amount added to the water, the pH dropped from 7.8 to 6.4 almost instantly.
This product is absolutely incredible, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a quick and effective way to adjust their aquarium’s pH. It’s a game-changer!
